FAQs
About Our Day Treatment Program
Our Day Treatment program provides therapeutic support for children experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges. We focus on helping children build coping skills, improve social functioning, and develop emotional regulation in a structured, supportive environment. Below are answers to some of the most common questions families have when considering enrollment.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Does my child need a mental health diagnosis to enroll?
Yes, a mental or behavioral health diagnosis is required to participate. Our Day Treatment program is designed to support children who are managing emotional or behavioral challenges and benefit from a structured, therapeutic setting.
2. What is a Diagnostic Assessment, and why is it required?
A Diagnostic Assessment is an evaluation completed by a licensed clinician to better understand your child’s emotional and behavioral health needs. It helps us determine whether Day Treatment is the right level of care and allows us to create an individualized plan that meets your child’s specific needs. This assessment is required before starting the program.
3. Why do you ask for insurance information?
Because our Day Treatment program is a clinical service, we bill insurance similar to a medical or therapy visit. Providing your insurance information helps us verify coverage and understand what your child’s plan includes. This allows us to work with you to avoid unexpected costs and make sure services are covered when possible.
4. What should I bring to the Diagnostic Assessment appointment?
Please be prepared to bring:
• Your child’s insurance card
• Legal documentation if you’re a guardian or caregiver
• Any medical or mental health records that may help us understand your child’s needs
• A list of current medications your child takes
5. Can children on the autism spectrum attend the program?
Yes, we often work with children who are on the autism spectrum. We ask that participants are verbal and able to participate in small group activities with support from staff. At this time, we are not able to accommodate children who require one-on-one assistance or support with daily living skills. If you’re unsure, we’d be happy to talk with you to determine if our program is the right fit.
6. What if my child has developmental, physical, or learning differences?
We understand that every child is unique. While we specialize in behavioral and mental health support, we may not be equipped to provide care for children who require ongoing one-on-one supervision, help with toileting, or significant physical accommodations. If you’re unsure whether our program is appropriate, please reach out. We’re happy to talk with you and help you find the best support for your child.
